Hi, Robert, it's a nice BW view of Museu Paulista or Museu do Ipiranga, as it is also known. As a tip, maybe you could add some contrast, it uses to provide good results in BW images.
About your note: this building did not housed Brazilian monarchy. In fact, it was built at the end of XIX century, after the end of monarchy, and it has been a museum since then. Monarchy palaces are found mostly in Rio de Janeiro, that was Brazilian capital at that time.
Here you can read some information about Museu Paulista (portuguese): http://www.mp.usp.br/historia.html
What is special for us in this place - Ipiranga - is that it's the place where our Declaration of Independence was shout by Prince D. Pedro, in 7/9/1822, and he became the first Emperor of Brazil, after independence.

It's a very interesting urban view. I like all those roofs, with different colours.
But I agree with previous posts. This curve is just a distortion provided by wide angle lens. I also have some posts here in TE that shows this kind of curve and all of them were taken with wide angle lens (or wideconverters, using my previous camera). This piece of land (or sea) showed in your picture is a minimal part of the whole Earth, I bet that it couldn't be so curved at this single point.

Colours and light are amazing. Polarized worked fine here. And Sigma 10-20 means a lot of fun (I also have one)! But I'm not sure about your composition. Everthing looks so linear. Of course I don't know this place, but I wonder if the scene wouldn't be better if you were some metres to the left, in order to show the illuminated face of the old house and also the row of trees. Well... that's just some thoughts about your picture.

Welcome to TE. It's a beautiful composition, but the colours look to much contrasted for my eyes, it's not natural. I would say you abused of post-processing... The vision is nice, anyway. Some notes about this place would be appreciated.

It's a really nice night shot of a very famous building. It's clear and sharp and I also appreciate this composition, with the Dome on the very right of the scene. As far as I remember, Sant'Angelo bridge is not so close to San Pietro; did you use huge tele lens?

Interesting effect. The sunlight produced a good luminosity here. I also appreciate this symmetric composition.
It makes me remember Star Wars or something like that (put a helmet in one of these passengers and he would look like Darth Vader...).

Well... it's a very clear and contrasting picture! Lights and shadows are amazing. I just wish you gave more technical information about the picture itself. Was it taken digital or film camera? Which one? Have you done any kind of post processing? And so...
The composition is also perfect. Well done.
