Great description. Your photo is far more solemn than most Japanese "temple" photos. No uniformed giggling kids, no peace signs. All business. I like it!

Perfect title for a great photo. After listening to "Singapore" about a thousand times your photo just jumped out at me.

The black in the sign is beautiful and glistening. Well done. It and everyting behind it looks brand new.

The first character is pronounced "waka." It means young. The second has several readings for cherry tree. "Sakura" is probably the most recognized but in this case it should be "sa." Did you stay at "Hotel Wakasa" by any chance?

Pensive but not worried - his expression appears to be full of the knowledge that there will ALWAYS be more customers in his business. I was really taken with the bright colors of the coffins. They seem...festive. Great photo.

I like your perspective on the bridge here. The sunset colors are not very strong so it might have been worth it to wait a few more minutes and catch the lights of the bridge once they are really bright (I know it's stereotypical but with such a great angle it would be beautiful.) Did you get off at Maiko and take the little museum tour? It is really interesting.

Looking at all of the men in the photo, I might go a step further and say that you captured a whole lifetime from the youngest one staring into the future, then meandering until he reaches that last bench.

I think your photo is well taken. The colors are good - American families long for a Thanksgiving turkey so golden brown as that pooch. I don't have a strong opinion about which animals to eat. I find that I would not like to eat my own dog because he is really cute. Perhaps if I owned a cow I would become just as attached. What I find striking about the photo is that there is a stereotypical image of "Asian market" we often have in the West (I find many such photos on TE that back up our image) but in this case, the girl is stylishly dressed with make-up, highlighted hair, and for an outdoor market, the surroundings are very sparse.

I like the colors and light. What I like the most is the pig on the bike. It's not just dead. It is worn out from the trip! This was the feeling I got even before I read your note.

I am enjoying this one more each time I look at it. At first I was only looking at the exhibit but then I realized that I am not sure any of them are really looking into the case. The one with sunglasses could be but then, she could have dozed off and we wouldn't know. This was a much better catch than if they had all been studying the case seriously.

You should be pleased with the B&W. I can imagine the color one so this was the right choice. I like the composition and sharpness. I wish the frame of the glass case could be a little darker against such a light background so it would feel less washed out.

I thought this was desaturated too. Great shot. Even without the "N/Hawk" sign (that you captured really well) it still has a Hopper feel. For me, more so because of the lines of the church than the gas station.
