The composition is outstanding. Partly because of the great sense of scale. But I also think that positioning the guy in the middle (vertically) and according to rule of thirds (horizontally) works really well. I think it works well in BW. One still gets the idea that teh mountains have a peculiar shade. Although, like Steffano, I am curious as to how Lannmannalaugar's famous ryalithe mountains would look in color. The greyscale is interesting but not flawless due to large burned out areas. Sharpness is not impressive. But nevertheless the pic works well because of the intense compo.

Very nicely captured everyday scene. The motive is really interesting (and hte note adds to the interest). Compositionwise, I really like the two diagonals. One cames from the heap of fish and the raft. The other comes from the shadow of the sisherman ending, conveniently, at the dog. Well seen. The light is lovely and mostly well exposed. I do wish that we'd been able to see his facial features a little better. But that is a nitpick. It is a fine photo full of atmosphere.

Wow. It does look intense. A hard subject to make photographically interersting. But you do a good job here. The glowing orange stands in stark contrast to the grey colors. Good job to exclude the sky to preserve this contrast. But also a good decision to include some background. I agree that this calls for a beer. But perhaps you have brought a steak to barbeque?

The landscape is beautiful and interestingly presented. You make a good choice by leaving out the sky altogether. This emphasizes the graphic aspect of the image and makes it muc more intensely dramatic. The fact that there is no single main motive also contributesin this regard. The green is beautiful and so is the light. But it is a real shame that the focus is so soft.

Wonderful landscape. Good angle to make the tree break into the sky and excellent sharpness throughout.
The composition is good. Lots of trianlges here. The sky, the hillside on the left and the stream. Very well seen.

Nice contrast between the gloomy street and the glorious sky. The fact that all the folks at street level showcase tired stonefaces only emphasizes this. Normally, i would have asked for some more ligth in the faces. But given the overall idea, I think that you did the right thing. The exposition goes very well with the main composition and idea of the pic.

What I like about the POV and the wide-angle here is that it sets the monumental edifice in context in its surroundings (quite impressive given its size). The pathway leading out into the landscape underlines the sense of scale by providing perspective. Thanks also for the informative note.

Oh.. I'd love to go kayaking in those surroundings as well. But the view from the shore is very nice also. The kayak does a lot for the image by providing a sense of scale. Good job using it is middle in a classic foreground-middle-background compo. Well spotted and crisp execution!

Nice moody shot. I love that classic Nordic light through heavy clouds. The picture has a remarkable near-monochromatic hue and the sharpness is good throughout.
A minor criticism: I find the bits of trees on the left a little distracting. I get the idea of using them as a sort of frame. But I think it would have been better to include some more of them OR they could simply be cropped out. That is a very minor detail, however, and not a distraction that disrupts the overall atmosphere conveyed by the image.

I agree. That is one of the more remarkable places I have ever found myself at. Nothing quite like it! You depicted the incredible fauna in the middle of the vast salt dessert very well.
The cactus and the horizon provides some amazing horizontal-vertical lines. I also like the little arrow which provides a surrealistic 'human touch' to the scene
