I don't come to TE as often as I used to (and not as often as I would like...) and it's a delight to find one of your pictures and some of your words. And of course a picture of the place that has a special place in my heart, and that you so obviously love. Of course this sky and this sea were asking for pictures, I'm so glad you decided to go for it. Rinie has said it all, I really like the low point of view that brings out the energy of the sea (the boat gives the same impression), and the wonderful light.
I hope you are doing good, Curtis.

If only the sailboat was really sailing! :^)
But it doesn't really matter, this scenery is terrific, a bit scary, not really human... It shows the strength of nature and how much we are small. Very nice picture, and great note.

I'm not very experienced with lights from the Mediterranean area (yes, shame on me) but when you speak of "clean light", I think of what I have seen in the north of Norway. Such a pure light, it looks unspoiled. You should check it sometimes, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
In your picture what I mostly feel is warmth, richness. Richness of the architecture and warmth of the sun which I'm sure is shining through this beautiful glass. It looks amazing.

A very typical greek soldier in full uniform (I wish someone could explain me the reason for the shoes, there must be a story to explain the black fluffy thing at the end). What makes your picture very special is the warm light and the shadow it makes on the wall. Perfect composition, clever picture, and interesting note (I understand spanish but can't speak it, I hope english is OK).

Wow, this is beautiful. Wildlife in one corner, and the city in the opposite corner... The city has won, obviously, it is in full light while the wildlife is in the shadow... Yet, it may be a trick the birds use so that they can live peacefully in that peace of land that they have kept. Also, they are close to us, even if in the shadow, the city is golden but so far away!
In every details of this picture there are two different worlds, contrasted, but living in harmony. The transparency of the lake in the foreground, the reflection in the water, everything is gorgeous.

Such a funny look! It looks like a castle from a Disney cartoon, I would never have guessed it was built as a fire station.
I usually don't like centered composition of buildings (they can sometines look like not-so-good postcard), but here it works quite well, I don't really know why. Maybe because of the people on the left that unbalance the whole scene? (and the building itself is not symetrical). Interesting note as well. Thanks!
