A superb image Kath with wonderful colour and detail. It has been my favourite place to visit in Yorkshire for several years. I could spend days there taking photos and because it is so little known you can do so from every angle while others are visiting the better known but less photogenic abbey ruins thereabouts.

Hi Vincent. This is a well composed image and I like the way you have placed the branch to enter the image from a top corner. The exposure is perfect to show the dappled light light on the beautiful leaves against te well blurred background.

Hi Mesut. Considering you were forced to use on-camera flash, this has turned out well. The usual brighter central portion matches the area of light from the window and the colours remain strong. Nice work.

A really beautiful picture John. The light golden leaves bronzing towards the top of trees look wonderful set against the darker ountains and blue sky. I think your crop is perfect for a great composition. I bet this looks even better at full size. It's one of those images that make me wish for a larger posting size and screen. Excellent.

Wow! What a superb horseshoe shape. I think France has some of most beautiful and unspoilt rivers I have seen and this does have the appearance of the Amazon. Well done for finding this viewpoint and capturing such a good image.

Good colour and exposure and crop excellent for composition. The blurred BG is important and the subjects really stands out well. I was going to post my version tonight. That's the second time you've done that! I'll go for the medieval period instead.

Hi Alexandre. I very much like the layered affect of the mist between the trees and I also think the foreground trees are necessary to contrast against the mist and add depth. However, the trees do seem to oversharpened reslting in the halos mentioned by another.
