Salut, Jean Yves -
A lovely blue hour shot, with well managed light. At first I thought it might have been tilted a bit, but I realize that the minarets are straight and it's the ground that's off.
Best,
Dan

Hi, Paolo -
A lovely shot which deserves more attention than it's been getting. What particularly caught my eye is the very slight reflection of the sunset in the snow. You've also done a very good technical job in managing the light and shadow through stitching.
Best,
Dan

Merhaba. Bulent -
This is a very powerful portrait, made more so by your choice to present it in B&W. You've captured the thoughtful gaze perfectly, and the sharpness in depth is incredible, especially so close up.
I have posted in the WS one of Rembrandt's other old man portraits, this one from the Pushkin in Moscow, which I think comes closer to this portrait here.
The centerline principle is one which I had been using inadvertently until you pointed it out to me, so now I am conscious of it. Thank you for that.
By the way, Yiddish is a Germanic language; in essence it's medieval German with a lot of Hebrew and Slavic words and something close to English-like syntax. So a simple "Danke" would have been understood.
Best,
Dan
PS: The thing that surprises me about this picture is not that the rabbi gave you permission, but that the airport authorities didn't stop you; in this age of terrorism, the police get very nervous when people start taking pictures in airports.

Hi, Michael -
Classic capture of a south Pacific sunset. The starfish is an excellent touch.

Hi, Jim -
Sunsets are a bit of luck, but shooting them right is skill. You did a very good here, particularly with the low angle emphasizing the fg. Colors and clarity are really great.

Dan

Salut, Diane -
Interesting use of minimalism. What makes it work, of course, is the excellent low, strong light. That, and the absence of surface disturbance on the water, which gives it an etherea quality. Well captured!

Bonjour, Jean Yves -
Great human interest shot, nicely balanced between the boy weighted to the right and the shutter on the left. You might try a bit of burn brush on the hands.
Best,
Dan

Hi, Marlene -
I didn't agree with the title - until I spotted the billboard! A fascinating sunrise shot, and I am intrigued with the way the buildings start out distinct and discrete in the fg and quickly fade into a homogeneous mass behind them - an unusual mix. Nice capture of the morning smog/haze while showing us the mountain clearly, as well.
Best,
Dan

Hi, John -
A lovely shot, and worth freezing for! You picked a shutter speed just slow enough to hint at water movement without overdoing it.
Maybe it's my monitor (a discussion we've had before), but I found the colors a little dull. I did a quick WS with Curves to intensify them slightly - a subtle difference, but I like it better. See how it looks on your monitor.
Best,
Dan
