Kev,
This is a beautiful soft portrait of endurance with a humane vibe yet a melancholic soft female face. A deep expression, timeless with the shadows emphasizing the ambiguity and unpredictability of the environment. Excellent and poetic note.

Hello Petek,
I like these intimate close ups of small habitats of ordinary people---I am sure she leads a simple life, with memories of sons and relatives nicely shown in the pic. Having the lady there would have been nice, but if you werent able to get it naturally, then you are better off leaving it this way. Besides, the surroundings give us some idea about the condition of that person---traditional, a little poor, but possibly content??
It would have been nice to zoom out a little, but i can imagine it might have been difficult in a tiny home....2 points for the details:)

classic POV and vintage and nicely framed. I think it is the first time i see a B&W of this site. I passed by it too and I agree that Syria can capitalize on its archeological and historical sites much better to attract tourism. Hopefully one day..

Thanks again Bogart for documenting these images. After all, photography is also about informing us of the state of the world-including harsh realities, inflicted by fellow man to another. How sad while influential decision makers stand by and watch!
I appreciate the framing, cutting close to the eyes. They say more than enough

Hello Bogart,
Thank you for an informative picture--too sad for the eye to look at--but true in 2009 and earlier.
I guess those who decided to test these illegal weapons, and those who condonned their activity, can hold this photo in their hand in any public event---so their cruelty is never forgotten.

Hello Nana,
A true documentary shot. I may agree with George and others, but the simple truth about your photo is enough for me and stronger than "hard talk" conversation on BBC.
I am sure going there has its special rewards--being and feeling with the people of this hard land. By the way, Haiti touched me too:)
