let there be light! :) and then there was light, in all meanings of this word. I'm happy about the recent changes here, and hats off to you for your persistance.
but back to the photo - love it, the golden light seems to pour right out of my monitor. the composition works very well, especially the strong diagonals of light and shadow. great shot, my compliments.

well, this is just gorgeous, the abundance of blue tones and textures create a dreamy mood, I like that a lot. I also like how you have composed the scene, the curving shoreline nicely leads the eye towards the horizon, and I am fascinated by the illusion that the rocks gradually change into clouds and take off :) great shot, my compliments.

hi Tom,
I really like the photo, the kayak looks like an arrow ready to strike the darkness of the forest. the mirror-perfect reflection adds to the illusion, almost impossible to tell what's real and what's not. difficult contrasty light, but the result looks good, nice shot.

love the gradient sky, for some reason sky like this always feels very cold to me :) love the composition too, the V-shape of the mountains works well to draw the eye into the scene, while the silhouette of the tree adds a nice accent. winter CAN look good, lol :)

great portrait, and I like a lot the tight composition, together with the direct look it makes the image very personal and almost intimate. I agree that B&W was the proper choice, the colours would distract from the texture of her skin and clothes. very good work, my compliments.

I think I prefer this photo to the later post, the stack of shiny boxes look like some alien creature, while the person in the red tries to communicate with it. love the diagonal composition, this shot goes straight to my favourites.

such a moody shot, looks like a scene from some cyber-punk movie, "Blade Runner" may be, the shining boxes in the background create a strange contrast with the contemporary clothes of the man, like pieces of two different puzzles. I like a lot how the darkness, not colours or light, actually defines the shapes and forms. great shot, my compliments.

I agree with Kath that the colours look like liquid gold, and "glowing" is the best wway to describe the luminous light. love the calm and tranquility of the scene, and the centered composition works well to emphasise the sense of harmony. beautiful.

ha, I guess this is how "Beam me up, Scotty!" looks like :) love the shot, the Canyon at its best, the walls look as is made of amber. or honey :) the arched "roof" could belong to the cathedral, the crowds are equally dense... I still hope to get back there when the Canyon is in a better mood than when we met the first time.

p.s. isn't the Canyon in Arizona, not Utah?

I cannot really define it, but there's something fascinating about this photo, may be the combination of the fiery orangle edge of the sky and minimalistic composition. in any case, I like the result a lot, even despite some colour noise in the clouds.
