I like the hour glass shape that this framing makes, like his age on his face and beard are like the sands of time. the colors could be richer and it could be sharper overall, especially in his eyes.

Here we go... this is a good one... something going one, a good composition, an interesting light, and simply an interesting scene. my only guff is about the right side... i would like a little more leg (enough to go the length of the right edge of the frame) or no leg/foot at all. I like the slight motion of some of the folks (especially in the bottom left corner, adds some mystery to it)... but they are surprisingly still for an 1/8th. Great toning as well. I feel like you have a lot other shots that are better than what you have shown before.

i wish you pulled the blue in her head wrap out more... make it pop a little... work it with the orange. I would like to see the other frames from this shoot. For now I will wait to make a real comment for when I see something that grabs me, vraiment

Hi Marija,
This comment sort of goes for the bulk of what I have seen in your gallery. You have a good sense of composition, using the lines really well, not just to lead the eye but to frame a subject, like in this photo. I also saw some nice moments on other photos, like the one of the 2 old women and a good sense of timing and color in the photo "Parallel," a photo I liked a lot. I think this photo here might be a little over exposed, you could go down a 1/3 and reduce that highling on the ground and darken the beams above a little more.
All the best,
Narayan

i just wanted to echo Luko's comment... the foreground just doesn't keep pace with the background. But I love that his face is blacked out and the toning looks good. I think this is one of your more interesting photos from Africa, though... something that has traces of your style. I know how hard it is there to do the kind of photography that we started off doing... it is a hard place to begin with but then with the added pressure that you give yourself to make good photos makes it all even harder. Stupidly enough, I kind of want to go back!

damn, could have been perfect... get her framed in the archway with no overlapping of the woman's head with the pillars... at least you have that bitchin light on her but I would prefer no overlapping... even though there is trade off here... oh well, nothing like the could-have-beens.
