Hi Inn,
So, there I am telling you in your last Cuban photo that it must be impossible to take a photo in Cuba that isn't full of colour and what do you do? You post a B&W to prove me wrong! ;)
This is a great B&W portrait, I love how the edge of the window is positioned down the middle of the man's head. Also love all the peeling paint and rust around the window which adds great textures. What is the black rectangle infront of him? It seems he is looking at himself in a mirror.
Great photo, well captured. Good workshop photos too to show what these strange buses look like.
Best regards,
Rich

Hi John,
Along with everyone else here, let me say "Welcome to TrekEarth" and congratulate you on a delghtful first photo.
I actually live quite close to Bibury and 3 weeks ago got married here at the Swan Hotel. Most of our wedding photos were taken in these beautiful gardens next to the river.
It's a pleasing composition here with the little run-off stream heading to the bottom right and the two 'big' trees are nicely positioned within the frame. Colours are lovely and it's nice that you haven't oversharpened the image in the post-processing stage. It's pretty sharp for a 1/40 sec. hand-held with no image stabilising. Look forward to seeing some more of your photos in the future.
Best regards,
Rich

Hi John,
Wonderful portrait of this young girl. Definately worth re-posting this one and it's great to see that your knowledge and experience of composing, cropping and general PP work has improved since your earlier upload. Also nice that you have expanded your note to include a little more info. on the girl and where she lives.
I love the new, tighter crop and thew colours are beautiful. Great job, John - a definite improvement over the original and a lovely image.
Best regards,
Rich

Tremendous sky, Andreas and I love the watertower - I bet it makes a fantastic home, I'd love to see inside it!
The heavy clouds at the top of the image are wonderful, so deep in colour and your composition is very nice with just enough of the black silhouettes to give an idea of the landscape but with the emphasis clearly on the sky. The white frame is a nice final touch.
Well done and enjoy your weekend!

HI Renier,
Fantastic capture! I really like the way the figures are reacting to the waterfall. The two lads, heads down enjoying the heavy massage of the water hitting their heads and shoulders. And then the lady, sitting down, trying to lean forwards out of the way of the force of the water and holding her hands over her head for protection. Colours and exposure are great. Composition is pretty good but I think you should have panned just a little more to the right as the lady's feet are right on the edge of the frame at the moment.
Great shot though, Renier. have a nice weekend,
Rich

Hi Matthew,
Beautiful night light photo of Brisbane. The image is so sharp and wonderfully detailed. The mooring posts in the foreground provide plenty of interest to the overall composition and that bright light is an excellent focal point. Really, I don't think this photo would be even half as appealing without it - just compare the left half to the right half to see what I mean.
Nice white frame to finish off the photo but I'm not keen on the dropshadow, I think it's too dark and would prefer something much subtler if at all.
Great photo though, and that's the main thing! ; )
Have a good weekend,
Rich

Hi Indro,
What a stunning setting for sitting on the roof, in the shade of the big umbrellas, and eating a delicious pizza. And all this under the shadow of these spectacular mountains. I expect this pizza restaurant is a popular dining spot!
The photo is very good too. Nice composition and POV showing the mountains and sky in the background and the lighting is very good. The colours are slightly off in my opinion - possibly a little too much yellow and magenta but I kind of like the effect - it reminds me of my old family photos from the 1970's! It has that slightly aged, nostalgic feel to it.
Great image, Indro - I'd love to go there someday...
Best regards,
Rich

Hi Indro,
Another great sepia image from the beach. I love the foam of the sea and the texture of the sand on this one - the bottom half of this photo is extraordinary - really beautiful!
Wonderful background too with the gentle blending of the sea into the sky and the soft haze in the air. I think however that the positioning of your main subject, your friend in the sea, is not quite as strong as the previous photo. I think maybe he is a little too central and distant regarding his position vertically. Also I preferred the white frame from your previous photo too. That said, it's still a beautiful photo and it's great to see another image from this beach.
Well done, Indro and best regards,
Rich

Hi Inn,
Another great photo to add to your colourful Cuban collection. I think it must be impossible to take a dull photo in Cuba, there always seems to be so much colour and life wherever you look.
The composition is good on this one regarding the position of the background but I can't help thinking that the nurse is too central in the frame. I would have preferred to see her nearer the edge of the photo. Well exposed though and with good shadows.
Well done and best regards,
Rich

Hi John,
Haha, yes I used to have the game 'Hungry Hippos' when I was young!
This is a great shot. The composition and POV are excellent with the wall and the mouths creating a nice diagonal across the frame. Good colours and detail too showing off those huge teeth and bristly chins. I'd never believe the zoos would let you get this close to these creatures. Great shot, well done!
Regards,
Rich
