great shot stephen...just to put my two bobs worth in re the workshop...I think its much better left as it is. I think the compsoition that has the bat bottom left and leaves a broad open green area above and in front of it is perfect. A thick black border detracts from it IMHO. T

Some notes...?
I find the photo interesting, but I can't help but wonder if you are overlaying two photos on top of each other. The sky seems like a combination of two skies. odd, intersting, but good...? I suppose it depends on your tastes, but I find it looks fake. Like some of the others I would have liked to see the original, and if not a few notes to explain it.

Hi Anjula, nice shot. I remember jumping through the hole when I was a kid. Back then it was known as the natural arch. I also vividly remember catching sight of a giant white centipede type creature in the rocks near the water's edge. The sight of it is still etched in my mind because it was enormous - so big that i didn't bother telling anyone about it because i knew they wouldn't believe me. Needless to say I never went swimming there again.
The shot is good because of the exposure that highlights the waterfall and becauuse of the figure in the foreground. The colors are dulled a little, but i'm not sure highlighting them, ala the workshop, is the best idea. Have you considered desaturizing it and making it black and white? Just an idea. Thanks for sharing,
Van

"Got him!" in the imortal words of Bill Lawry. I'm assuming this ball went through to slips and that he got a nick. Then again it could have been a sharp leggie that beat the bat. Judging by the action of the bowler thats entirely possible. If thats the case the guy will do well to avoid a stumping - I think I can make out the crease just on the inside of his trailing foot. Had he connected I imagine it would have been a big six. At least he wasn't trying to square cut into the river. Fielder's don't look too interested.
Did I mention it's a great shot?

Great photo, I had to laugh at the first post you recieved...not sure if drweedon was being tongue-in-cheek or really meant the stickball call. Either way it made me laugh.
You couldn't really go wrong when you found the game in such a location...the magic of this photo lies not so much in the technical matters of photography but in the desire to find that special place for a shot...in this case seeking out the train brought you to a scene that is in its own way just as special. I can't think of a more indian-esq shot, the iconic game of cricket which is india's great religion set against the backdrop of india's greatest monument. Bravo.

Hi Patrice, I noticed this because it's very similar to one I took myself...yours is better because the colors are richer and because of the shadows I think...great shot, check out my shot to compare by clicking on my username...thanks for sharing,
van
