Lovely dramatic shot of the horses seen with the sun behind them. Well composed. Beautiful colours of distant hills and bare soil complemented by the brown of the horse.
What do these horses feed on?

A very lovely view of this much photographed place. The low resolution of your camera gives it a pleasing painterly quality. Well seen, and thanks for sharing.
Best wishes from Dunbar, Scotland, the birthplace of John Muir whose writings a hundred years ago made Yosemite famous.

Yes, it is an amazing scene with most beautiful colours, but unfortunately overexposed. A very difficult subject even with a much better camera.
I've tried to improve it in Workshop - I wonder if you will ever look at it!
I am shocked that you did not get encouragement from the members of TE back in 2003/4. I expect you are a very expxerienced photographer now!
Best wishes,
Winifred

Hi, Donkey.
I have just looked at 10 other shots from this viewpoint. This is the first to make me want to critique!
You have caught a magical effect, seeing through the mists to the hills just catching the sun. The hard-edged treetop silhouetted against the haze establishes the depth of the valley.
Best wishes from Dunbar, Scotland, the birthplace of John Muir who loved and wrote about this place,
Winifred

Amusing title! The umbrella seems to be hovering above the drain cover. I wonder why one man is standing still while others are rushing away.
A satisfying composition of blue-greys and grey-golds.
Kind regards,
Winifred

Dear Marlene, words failed me - I've just been looking for ten minutes.
By chance what first appeared on my monitor was only the bottom square of the picture. That was a composition of brilliant colours and white bundles leading the eye to the dark tree framed by the horizontal houses. A click to reduce magnification, and suddenly I saw that brilliant peak up in the sky!
Thanks,
Winifred

Viviane, this is a classic composition - basically two lines at right angles. The grey soil and roof tone pleasantly with the sky, while the brilliant red and white tulips bring it to life.
And a very interesting story!
Thanks,
Winifred

Lovely photo, Milan. Everything points from left to right - one can 'feel' the wind blowing across the moor grasses. The low house on the left gives scale to the scene. Excellent colour and saturation (on my monitor!).
I am interested because a friend used to visit a friend who lived on Sylt long ago. This is just as she described it. Thank you.
