Sorry, i dont think this is a good portrait.
Of course the sharpness and exposure are good but her expression is one of boredom. Watching this portrait doesn't give me any special feeling although there is technically notrhing wrong with it.

Great shot. This composition has a maximum effect with a minmal ammount of elements. It takes a good eye to take this one!

I really like this one. Although the composition doesn't have a point where the eye is drawn to I dont miss that in this shot. It somehow shows the emptiness and size of the landscape.
A picture like this makes me want to go there myself.

Great family portrait! When i was in Kyrguzstan i found it was very hard NOT to have people pose for the picture. If they are going to pose; then better do it right.
    Like in this shot.
    Great work.

Although on a technical side i feel this image is a bit oversaturated and oversharpended its a very charming scene to look at. Cant resist this shot.

Indeed.... Unbelievable. Although this is not a "beautifill" photo in terms of composition and light it has everything to do with learning about the world through photography.

I would have big problems with golf in Afghanistan if precious water recources are used for the greens and fairways. Obviously they dont. So play on guys!

Incredible sight still. Thanks for sharing.

Nice sharp and nicely exposed panoramic shot.
I do feel there is a bit too much to see in this picture to make it really pleasing for the eye. Its now a bit a mess of mountains and rocks with nothing that really stands out.
The shot misses a spot where you can rest your eye bit.

You cant solve the lightning problem at the moment you took this shot. The range of contrasts are so high thats its inevitable that some parts of the shot are overexposed or underexposed. In bright sunlight in the middle of the day a shot like this will not work.
Of course the way to solve this problem is the time of day you take this shot. Around sunset or around dawn the light is much softer and you will get much better results.
A clouded day will help to!

ALWAYS carry tripod or something equally usefull around. This can be something very light or small. Or maybe a beanbag. I've always regretted the times i didn't take something to fix my camera.

To get a nice flow of water you need exposure times of at least 1/10 sec. Better is more...till around 1 second. If you take too long i feel the water starts to look 'plastic' in places. So somewhere around half a second is perfect (So you need something to fix you camera!)

Some tips to get your exposure time longer.
-Use the smallest aperture. I dont know what kind of camera you have but on most SLRs this is F/22.
    - Of course the lower the ISO, the better. This counts for both digital and film. DO NOT use automatic ISO-setting on digi cams!
    - If you still cant get an exposure time long enough use a filter. A neutral density filter is especially designed to 'darken' the image. However I would recommend to buy a good polarizer! This filter is very usefull in other situations but also extends exposure time 1 or 2 stops.

    Good luck.

hmm... we see some old rocks here. For something like me, who knows very little about Syria, i can only guess what it is. The shot shows too little from a photgraphy point of view but i CAN be that this shot is of historical relevance. A note is really required here.

Too bad some things went a bit wrong in the post-processing. The shot looks terribly oversharpened. Still a nice shot though

The colours and the scenery are nice. The picture misses a focal point. somewhere where the eye is drawn to. Maybe a person in the foreground, a building or a very scenic summit. Right now the composition is a bit to flat.

There are a lot of sunset shot posted on this site and they have to be really special to stand out.
I think this one is. The composition is wonderfully balanced.
