    Hello Kasia,

Missed this one. A superb view of the scenic lake. The snowcapped mountains on the horizon make a majestic backdrop and the highlights in the fg snow have been well exposed. The human figure on horseback provides a focal point and animates the scene. Nice tonal and textural contrasts. Tfs.

    Hi Kasia,

Good sharpness and density levels, with the red brick gates and fg posts contrasting superbly against the blue sky. I like the dual star patterns on the fg iron gates. Good exposure on the bright highlights and the lighter toned minaret adds a graphic element against the darker tones of the bg blue sky. Tfs.

    Hello Mesut,

I like the nearly square format and the superb saturated blue sky backdrop. The flattened perspective from the zoom works well in this close up shot of the nesting storks. I also saw some of these birds in Selchuk. Punchy light contrasts with good density levels that have given solid blacks and crisp clean whites. Tfs.

    Ciao Silvio,

What picturesque and magnificent countryside! I like the high vantage point and repetition of patterns and shapes such as the trees and horizontal colour bands formed by the fields and the farmhouses. Sharpness is adequate and the softness gives this image the look of a painting. Tfs.

    Hola Angel,

The wall at left and the fence post at right nicely frame the bg bridge. Good sharpness, saturation and colour. Nice reflections in the water. The red roofs of the houses contrast well against the blue sky. The double arched stone bridge makes a superb focal point in the centre of the image. The forested hill provides a nice backdrop. Tfs.

    Bonjour Denis,

Nice repetition of the palm trees with the 2 large fg trees either side nicely bookending and framing the shot. Good sharpness and excellent shadow detail. The ploughed, reddish brown soil contrasts well against the blue sky. The jagged bg mountains make a majestic backdrop. The views from the houses on the hill must be tremendous. Tfs.

    Hello Gerrit,

I like the variety of colors, both in the facades of the buildings at left and the people in the street with their red, yellow. pink, purple and blue attire, amongst others. The people almost appear to be competing against the buildings! Good sharpness and excellent colour and saturation. Nice repetition of the vertical lines of the buildings. The power-lines are everywhere! The street with a dip at right adds lead in lines and perspective. Tfs.

    Hello Gert,

I still have not been to Bulgaria. One of these days I will get there. A superb daily life scene from Sofia, with the colorful cardboard boxes in yellow and blue and the books adding to the palette. The cyclist at left animates the scene and provides scale. I would hate to be the salesperson if a rainstorm were coming! He would have to quickly move all the books inside! Tfs.

    Hello Eleu,

Unless the tripod is screwed onto solid bedrock, I would never leave the camera if a wave came in. I would rather get wet than have to pay $1000 for a new camera. I slipped and fell in Istanbul museum, and although my ankle was sprained, I cushioned and protected my camera as I fell. The camera was fine! I like the soft pastel colors and the repetition of the seagulls. Good sharpness and well framed. Tfs.

    Hello Ike,

This one from your random gallery caught my eye. The yellow colour of the fg flowers contrasts nicely against the bg blue sky. Good sharpness and the city skyline makes a fine backdrop. A terrific high pov overlooking the city with good sharpness and a pleasant wide angled panoramic view. Tfs.

    Hello Frank,

Nice repetition of the red and yellow flowerpots, which also add a nice warm cold colour contrast against the faint grey white blue colours in the bg wall. Excellent textural and tonal details in the bg wall too. Exposure on the highlights is ideal. The dark frame of the window adds a nice graphic element. Tfs.

    Hello Serge,

I have never been there so this wide angled view from a high vantage point gives a good overview of the city. The confluence of the 2 rivers adds interest. Good sharpness with nice, subtle reflections. The 5 or 6 bridges spanning the 2 streams add repetition to the shot. Excellent sharpness and well framed and composed. The low, flat, covered tour boat adds a fg focal point. Tfs.

    Hello Pierre,

Punchy light contrasts and ideal saturation as well as good clean whites with solid blacks, on account of the perfect density levels and exposure level. Good framing and composition with plenty of breathing space right around. Excellent sharpness and to top it all off, it's an interesting building. The red brick building at left contrasts well against the blue sky. Tfs.

    Hello Dwaypaian,

My condolences to the people of Nepal, India, Bangladesh and China, all of which lost citizens in the recent earthquake. Here I like the repetition of the prayer flags and the 2 silhouetted and relaxed men seated in the fg. Good textural details in the rough hewn fg stone pavement. Tfs.

    Hi Gert,

I too was shocked at the level of destruction and the horrendous loss of life. I have been to Nepal twice, in 2000 and again in 2002. I saw evidence in Patan of the 1934 earthquake. To date, almost 2,600 people have been killed. Your photos now form an important archive of what Nepal used to look like. I guess to a certain extent, some of mine and other TE members do too, now. Btw have you read any reports on damage at Patan? Haven't seen any news from there. Hoping Nepal recovers quickly.

Good deep perspective and diminishing linear perspective and vanishing point near the red brown shed is provided by the row between the vineyards. Good sharpness and only slight motion blur from the passing red train carriage. The diagonal lines of the vineyards contrast well against the horizontal line of the passing train. Tfs.

    Hello Stephen

Quite a high vantage point here that gives an expansive view. The fg shadow reminds me of the head of a Buddha statue form Thailand. Good sharpness overall although it seems a little soft right in the very distance. The topiary hedges in the shape of Maltese crosses add interest. Tfs.

    Hi Bev,

Missed this one. Great that most of the hilltop has been retained as public space and parkland rather than carved up for townhouse suites / apartment blocks for the wealthy as often happens to prime real estate. The colour of the water around Cornwall is quite different to that of the North Sea and English Channel. Good sharpness and lots of small details to peruse. Tfs.

    Salut Christiane,

A well composed shot with the horizon line well positioned below the centre, with good sharpness, colour and saturation. The meandering red dirt road at right adds deep lead in lines and perspective as well as setting up a superb warm cold colour contrast against the blue sky. Interesting cloud patterns in the sky. Tfs.
