It was shot in JPEG Fine. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what camera is used if the lens isn't a top quality one. The color changes in the sky will be due to the polarizing filter (which I forgot to remove) exaggerating the vignetting that the Sigma 18-50mm (a budget lens at GBP100) has at 18mm.

Gary I will edit my comment. I am sitting on a shared computer and I forgot to check the screen details. Apparenty the problem was that it had low quality settings. Once I uped them and viewed your photo I decided to change my comment.
