TE book - Thread for funds and money related issues

How to get the money required.

Money collection.

Do we need to keep this confidential? or not? Open model vs close model

Funny, this is the thread of all TE Bokk project thread with the least messages. How weird ;-)

Money collection seems to be the best solution depending and a Paypal account could be set for this.

Weird indeed!

Weird indeed! :o)

But, as I'm not an accountant, I can better leave the technical part of financing to the experts but I'm in for participating with the costs.

I propose a very simple fund collection rule. We need to have at least a set of "confirmed buyers".

This group must rach at least 300 copies. I suggest everyone to confirm how many copies you are interested in.

We can assume a "value", let us say 60USD per copy, without taxes and shipping costs. This is not the cost of the copy, it is the "sales" value.

I clarify again, this is not a compromise, but just a figure to start thinking how much would the people pay for the copy. And to have an idea of how many copies we may print.

On the other hand paypal is ok. There are some countries where this does not work, for instance mine. So we have to find out at least three or four ways to collect the money in order to cover all of the countries involved in this project.

I would go for two copies

I would go for just one copie...

I'm sure 60USD per copy is a lot of money for many of us, so I'd not go for more than one copy before having seen the results.

After seeing one first exemplar, I may afford to get more as a nice idea for a birthday or as next Christmas'presents...

OK let`s go the opposite direction

I rectify myself

It is important to mentio here how much you can afford per copy ona personal basis.
This will also affect the size of the printing, number of pages, etc etc.

I say I can afford two copies at a maximum price of 60USD each one.
You state your position like:

Two copies at 10 USD.
Four copies at 20 USD.

This is just an exercise. But please keep in mind "normal" prices that you can find easily everywhere at book stores (web pages etc etc).

if we all wait to see the results we will not See any...

Yes of course...

But I thought if enough members - say some 100 people - are garanting to buy at least one exemplar 60USD [or 2 ex. 30USD] then you could calculate if the project can be started?

Then I assume after the book has being found worth it, we could buy more and maybe more TE-ers will be curious too?
