Re: Gringofil says FURACHAN is out of his league...

Yes, perhaps I did put you in your place, Francis, and, yes, perhaps it was rude, but I don't like sugarcoating my opinions and serve it out straight and to the point...just to avoid...

Re: The bizarre primacy of WIDEANGLES!

I agree with Rafal...sorry to be rude, but there HAS to be something better to do with your day than think about how people shoot and which equipment they use. There are masters of photography that...

Re: Canon f/1.8 50mm ... any ideas?

Come on, Rafal, lots of people already said it’s a great lens...just buy it...it does not cost an arm and a leg. Just be ready that shots at f/1.8 will be a bit soft, but from f/2 up it is tack...

Re: 28mm or 35mm

Mario,

If using Sigma lenses makes you happy...go for it.

Just so you know: all third party lenses are reverse engineered (this means that Canon does not license their mount for use by other...

Re: 28mm or 35mm

Of course Canon...after my Tokina adventure I don't even think about third-party...it's like throwing money away down the toilet.

Re: 28mm or 35mm

Hi, Filip. More like 56mm. May fit his/your purpose, of course, but we must remember that some of the members comments on FredM forum (others too), mentionned here, relate to full frame (not 1.6...

Re: Lenses for Canon

You can also look in Seoul for a used Canon EF 17-35mm f/2.8 L...in China a good used copy costs as much as a new 17-40 f/4 but you do get advantage of a lower f-stop. Used is an option as well if...

Re: Lenses for Canon

Sorry, Rafal, but in the world of digital things and toys when the technology moves as fast as it does (and now it seems to be picking up speed...especially with Canon cameras), your 20D will become...

Re: 28mm or 35mm

I don't have it, but the 35 seems to be quite the lens. 28 on a digital body is a bit awkward...not really a focal lenght one can use. The 35 on the other hand becomes a nice 50 with the field of...

Re: Lenses for Canon

If you're going to save money on lenses you might as well get a 350D and call it a day. Lenses are the backbone of every system...stick to Canon and not third party (Tamron, Tokina and Sigma are...

Re: Which way is safer for making a backup?!

I use hard drives and DVD's for backup and also when I travel (but for that you also need a laptop...a small and light would do).

Re: How many times has your intro been viewed? 8409 here

Jose,

If you want to see and be seen join an online dating service...this here, if you're not yet aware, is a photo sharing site.

Re: How many times has your intro been viewed? 8409 here

Well...I've just seen the "INTRO" competition on another thread. This is what I was talking about. Much more interesting than the numbers bulls**t.

Re: How many times has your intro been viewed? 8409 here

I think this is going to turn into a competition...everything in terms of numbers on TE becomes more of a fight than anything else. And really...who gives a s**t how many people saw your profile? I...

Re: canon system, broken 20D. so 5D?

Maciek,

How about you just get a pro body? A Canon EOS 1D Mark II would be the perfect tool for you. The camera is more rugged and will withstand more shutter cycles than the 20D and even the 5D....

Since you LOVE to quote the TOS...here is something I found.

Re: W H Y D O P E O P L E T Y P E L I KE T H I S ??

I'm with you...I also find it very annoying. Maybe they just want to get noticed on the page and thus seem to think that writing in this fashion is "cool" or something. Also, there are people here...

Re: Where is the meaningful criticism?

Welcome to TE James! This is how this place runs...as for PhotoSIG...I don't care about the photo upload idea, at least there when I post a photo the single critique I get is almost always...

Re: Another "Get to know your fellow TE-ers" post

SHANGHAI SUCKS!

Hey, if there are more folks wanting to come and shoot in Shanghai I might start the Shanghai Photography Travel Service and offer photographic tours of this "wonderful" place! ;-)

Re: Another "Get to know your fellow TE-ers" post

1. Thailand (or anywhere in South-East Asia for that matter). I just feel comfortable walking around with a camera around my neck.

2. I think Japan and Korea. Before TE I thought of these two...

Re: To gringofil: Monks
