To nbournas: To nbournas:

It was shot in JPEG Fine. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what camera is used if the lens isn't a top quality one. The color changes in the sky will be due to the polarizing filter (which I forgot...

Re: A circle of friends...

I stopped reading this thread after about 30 or so, but I have to say I agree with dsidwell (waaay up the post list). The way to get back to how it was when I joined (only 2 - 3 months ago), will be...

Re: Stop !

I agree with Curioso.
Without getting too righteous, this site is about learning about the world, photographic techniques, and to some extent, post-processing techniques. The points system to me is...

Re: For Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn. I'll have to disagree about the "terrible teacher" self-deprecation. I tried out your technique here. See what...

For Carolyn

Hi Carolyn
Just a quick question - I noticed the vignetting on the pic and initially assumed it was taken with your Lomo, but then noticed the camera you entered was the D100. Did you add the...

Re: Any way to find out...

I wouldn't worry about it though. I've just had a quick scan through some members' points and it seem that almost everyone who makes critiques has at least 1 "not useful" point. The more critiques...

Re: Fro Adam: Scottish county

Hi Adam

Bute is in fact a separate council area (it covers the islands of Bute and Arran) but, as it is such a relatively small area and is very close to Argyll then, for the purpose of TrekEarth,...

Re: Taking pictures in the US

Good quote on the thread attributed to Benjamin Franklin:

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."

Re: Ripples

Thanks for the WS. I never thought to concentrate on the water. The original is a wider angle so I will play with that and post it as a WS soon.

"The underlying theme of TrekEarth is learning more about the world through photography." [from here]

In my opinion if a picture has an...

Useful Critiques

I know there are the radio buttons next to each critique for marking if it was useful to the reader, but is there a way of seeing the number of people who found a particular critique useful? I've...
