To PiotrS. Yes these are Julian Alps. On the right side...

How to cope with the 'flood' of new pictures?

I agree too, the number of new pictures posted every day and, even more, the number of all pictures on VT is getting unmanageable (unless one is unemployed and still has a camera, PC and Internet...

Where the picture was taken?

To ssddgreg,

Next to the trail leading from Kanin kable station B to the Krnica valley, some half an hour walking distance form the station. If you come to Bovec I can show you the tree ;-)

Filter?

To ssddgreg,

No filters, as far as I can remember. I would be tempted to use circular polarizer to play with water reflexes, but one needs a fast shutter for such shots and Velvia is only 50 ISO....

Vertical mullion

Yea, it is a kind of shock, yes... But if I crop it out most of buildings reflections are gone. And with reflections one is very limited in changing the view angle, you move a bit and they are gone....

'dpi'

To dsidwell,

I took the same '.tif' picture as for the original (which was indeed 2900 dpi) and resampled it to 72 dpi, as you suggested, and saved it. Next I 'save as' it as '.jpg' at the same...

Re: Photo Uploads - 1/day?

I would propose seven photos max in every calendar week. Software wise this should not be a serious problem. Benefits I see:
- five to seven photos in a single download seem a nice Travelogues; hard...

Re: Ability to post wider panoramas??

I hate scrolling too and there is no doubt everybody does the same. But, with panorama it's different, at least for me. Now, omitting the width limit 800 pix would certainly lead that some people...

Re: a bit more sharpness

Hi Bob and Jernej,

Yes, I agree that a bit (not too much) more sharpness would improve the pic without ruining the mood. The sharpness problem, seems to me, resides in JPEGing. My original 30Meg...
