To Merline: Thanks for you kind comment :)

I'm not a native English speaker myself, but I certainly understand what you mean by "freshness". Now that you said it, it seems very suitable word for the feeling of this photo as well. Thanks again.

To anes_lc: Hello Anellise

Thanks for you kind comment! The weather was really great throughout my stay in Iceland. I had heard it from man but was still so surprised that Iceland is THAT beautiful :)

Re: To richtersl: Thanks for a comment!

No Issand Jumal, ma alles praegu märkan, et sa oled kunagi ammu ühele mu kommentaarile veel vastanud :) Ma siis seekord vastan emakeeles.
Ei, see ei ole Vabaõhu Muuseumi lähedal. Vabaõhu muuseum...

Re: Point buddies?

You talk about point buddies? I found one - a real big point buddy.
Behreuz has written 115 critiques - most of them in style...

Re: Photo editing programs??

I use PhotoShop (CS2) - it's the best I've seen.
To be honest, most of the time I don't bother to hassle with RAW files. For my 15x21cm prints and 200kb files here in TE I haven't noticed a...

Improvement proposal for TE forum functionality

Many people, including me, love TE so much that we are not only happy about TE, but we also think about how it could be even better. Threads about how to improve mess with locations and...

To jsbedard: Hello!

Hello Jean Sebastien,
How cool is that! It is the same building indeed. Thanks for letting me see your version of it.
You have some fascinating photos uploaded in TE, with great colors. I'll check...

Re: Deleting workshop?

Dan, I hope you are joking...
I think you can not blame a user for doing something you personally don't like (in that case deleting your workshops), if there is a functionality that allows deleting...

To Luko: 10 points to a good critique!

Thanks Luko!
It is a pleasure and honor to receive such a good critique. I'm really an amateur and some things are difficult to figure out on your own.
I agree with your critique about my photo...

Re: Multiple entries with different spellings

If you browse through the forums you'll notice it has been a repeating topic here in TE forums.
There was a similar thread about the camera and lenses database, which is also a complete mess. I...

To ben4321: reply to critique

Thanks for your critique. I'm glad you noticed the cigarette tip :) I also liked it.
Maybe you are right about the eye contact, but then the cleaning nails business would not have been as serious as...

Re: identity crisis?

I agree with you that technically this is probably easy.
The only problem I have with this solution is that it makes uploading more difficult also for users who have not done anything wrong. The...

Re: Question on critque styles

Hello everybody,
I very much agree with what Ron and Johan have said. It is a good practice to critique photos in Welcome gallery and in Uncritiqued gallery. Ron is to my mind also very right about...

Re: The purpose of points ......... again

I'm surprised that so many people have got into serious trouble in TL - hatemail and so on.
Did you at least report it? TOS p.12: "Profanity, insults, and rude comments are not permitted on...

Re: identity crisis?

Maybe the identity crisis topic I raised in the first message of this forum thread applies first and foremost to TrekLens. "About TrekLens" begins with: "The underlying theme of TrekLens is...

Re: identity crisis?

I don't think the photos in TL are overall as bad as you describe. Sure there are some low quality snapshots of pets and friends, but there are also great closeup portraits, experimantal photos, good...

Re: identity crisis?

Thank you Lara for sharing your thoughts.
I can assure you that I had not looked into your profile before, so it was not me who reposted your flower more suitable to TL than for TE. But I'm glad to...

Re: TE vs TL, a few simple things

Okay, that's a good explaination. In order not to be misunderstood, let mu just emphasize on more time that the issue I wanted to raise is really not about any particular user or particular photo. I...

Re: identity crisis?

I know, Rafal, you have a phobia of rules and control, I've learned it from other forum threads already :) :) I'm not in control anyway so don't be afraid, I'm not willing or going to control you or...

You gave me quite a task. The link does not work and you have 159 fotos from France :)
But I did find it :) I like the vibrant colors of yours. Perhaps a shot from a lower angle would have been even...

Re: identity crisis?

There are over 46 000 users in TE and only about 12 000 users in TL, so it is not too many users who are actice on both sites.

I am also user of TL and I'm happy to learn that you are as well but...

Re: identity crisis?

Where do you find TL markiting itself as "learning about photography through the world"?.
Let me quote the very first sentences of the "about" pages in TE and TL:
TE: "The underlying theme of...

Re: Multiple entries with different spellings

Richard, I could not agree with you more. Even though this has been a continous topic here in forums, nothing has changed for better. The same problem is with camera and lens database as discussed in...
