Great holmertz 2017-11-11 2:34

Hello Marie Louise,
On the main photo the buildings seem to be in a reasonably good shape, except that there wouldn't be much of a view through the overgrown windows. The workshops tell us a different story of total decay. What a pity, but I know there are members of the site who just love abandoned, decayed houses ;-). An interesting contribution to TE in any case.
Kind regards,
Gert

Default To holmertz: Half decay

Hello Gert and thanks for your visit !
The 19th century house is not in such a bad condition yet. More WS are coming.
Unfortunately, I had to start with the most depressing, so that they would be at the bottom at the end of the story :-)
When we started our walk in the woods with our grandsons, I thought of going past the "haunted manor". "Is it haunted ? " they asked . Haha!
They had a great time anyway exploring the place as the door was wide open !
But you are right, it's a pity to have left it go to ruins, considering it was the home of the inventor of the submarine. I suppose the French navy has other things to do with its money :-(
Best regards.
Marie-Louise.
