Great Royaldevon 2018-10-11 0:35

Ha ! Ha ! Marius, so you managed to get here at last! Well done!
The weather can be so variable but that doesn't seem to make a great deal of difference, it just makes the abbey scenic or moody.

You have used the pathway effectively to guide us in a leisurely way, across the smooth, green areas to the focal ruins and the surrounding woodlands. Despite the darkening sky, the colours are strong and vibrant. The ruin has a secrecy, willing us to move in and investigate further. It was a good time to visit for the abundance of trees are beginning to show their autumn colours. Sometimes you can get some splendid autumn shots but sometimes the leaves fall before the colours have developed.

Did you walk through the trees and find the money tree? That would have fascinated your daughter!

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Default To Royaldevon: money tree

Ha ha
Yes I have discovered it accidentally with my daughter. She asked me about it. Then I noticed it in your gallery as well
Great place for a walk but it was bit cold this time. I have to return on a warmer day
I wanted to let you know that I am coming but then again when I am with my daughter it is not so much chance to talk to other people.
I planned to go to Skipton as well but it became too cold.
Kind regards,
M

Default Bolton Abbey

Bolton Abbey is a great place on a lovely day. The cafe is worth a visit and the old book shop but, I would suggest that you need a whole day at Skipton. You need to see the castle and the wander around the town to see the canal and the old buildings.

Best wishes, Bev 😊

Thank you Bev.
In that case it turned out well: I will come to Skipton on another occasion
