Great Royaldevon 2018-10-12 2:49

Hello Gert,

I had to check the location of your photograph for it did not seem Italian. But, it is good to learn about places, their character and atmosphere.

You are right, it is the little boy who captures this photograph with his charming, innocent smile. But what a setting he commands! The fact that no-one seems to be paying him any attention really adds to his dominance!
After you have manoeuvred yourself, you may have lost the pigeons but you had secured a fine compositional position. The tree is a well placed feature and there is a good diagonal line from the focal child to the guiding steps.

The w/s are a good addition.
Is the person, behind the inquisitive lady, a friend or did you capture someone stealing from her bag!

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Default To Royaldevon: attention

Thank you Bev for your thoughtful comments.
The boy's grandfather actually paid him close attention from just outside the picture. Regarding the "theft" in the WS I assume they were friends. Or she would regret she didn't pay more attention to her bag. I like your smart observation, it made me laugh.
Have a nice weekend,
