Sometimes when picked out as an unusual pair it could be most pleasant to put 2 pictures at the right side together and the text at the left, easier to go through a photo-book as mostly the right side is first visible.

I think we can send some layouts of the book to Jack, so he can post them at a webpage for easy viewing and deciding.

One with one picture, with two, three, etc.

By watching the design we can reach a better understanding and agreement.

  • cover of the book
how about a shot or drawing of the earth, from which many bands would spring out, widening,, with shots on each band. I think that would convey the internationality of our membership, and the richness of the contents of the book, and our site, of course?
  • Re: cover of the book
i think the cover photo should be the highest voted from those wich will be selected to be in the book

  • TE book - Thread for the features of the book - SUMMARY
I think it's time to settle down some ideias... starting again with the first post and after reading some of the main ideas here:

Number of pages: Between 300 and 600 (150-300 sheets)
Photographs per page: Between 1 and 3
    Type of cover: Hard cover
Colour printing (even with some B&W pictures)
Notes: Original photographer note in native language plus translation to EN

    Do you agree, what more?
  • Re: TE book - Thread for the features of the book - SUMMARY
I agree with Malopes. i think 500 pages is max, that will include indexes, acknowledgements and glossary of techniques and terms. I feel very strongly that the original photographer's note be done in their native language and translated to English. The format I have in mind is similar to "The Photography Book" by Phaidon Press, published in 1997. In this book they compiled the work of 500 photographers all over the world at one photo per page It is impressive but a very heavy book.
