Great alvaraalto 2019-10-23 1:28

Hello Bev,
Do we never get rid of our image of clogs and mills, followed by weed and tulips?
And then also in double Dutch which has different meanings, some of which are not so flattering to us. Let's just keep it here jumping rope with two ropes. 😉
A nice start for your report about your visit to the Netherlands. 😊
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Default To alvaraalto: Double Dutch

Thanks for your critique, Rob.
I'm afraid that people love the idea of clogs, windmills, tulips and cheese, because it is what characterised Dutch people. We know that times have moved on but we still like to to hang on to traditions.
It is just like people seeing old cottages, palaces and the royal family when they visit the U.K. Many people feel deprived if they have not encountered something truly British on a tour.

I teased Chris constantly about how Hans saved Holland, with his finger in the dyke!
No harm is intended, just fun.

Have a good day,
Bev
