Great willperrett 2018-02-20 8:24

Hello Kasia

Lovely image and note too: informative and atmospheric. The light was flat (was it worth experimenting with pumping up the contrast?); there is a lot of space around the subject (did you consider going closer/zooming in/cropping in P'shop?). Of course I'm being unduly critical ('cos I know you can take it, and come back with explanations/justifications!). It remains a very interesting ethnographic documentary image, and thus a perfect TE post.

Regards

Will

P.S. Despite what Craig says, I'm so glad you eschewed "Lady in Red"...

Thank you Will
Of course I don't mind constructive criticism, these discussions keep my brain alive... :-)
This is contrast already increased, any more an the reds are starting to go funny. Maybe there is a better way of doing it than just straight levels/curves.
I thought about cropping. I thought maybe portrait. But then I decided to leave it to show this is all happening in boring mundane surroundings, rather than some fancy temple.
Have a nice evening
Kasia

Select the red, invert the selection (so that everything except the red is selected) and then do your worst with increasing contrast...

Thanks, makes a lot of sense. But will it not make the red areas look flat in comparison whereas they should stand out?
