Posting "Best Wishes"
NOTE: Reposting this "Announcement" because there are still loads of "Best Wishes" photos w/o a suitable note or with text on the photo instead of within a frame around the photo.
Hi all members of TE,
This message concerns all the members of TrekEarth and especially the "new ones".
Christmas & New Year is time for great pictures but each of us must remember that the Terms of Service - at http://www.trekearth.com/terms.php - should be followed:
Rule 5 of TOS: As the purpose of TrekEarth is to learn about the world through photography, shots of common objects (like closeups of any flowers or plants, water droplets, toothbrushes etc.) tend not teach us anything without a suitable note (not a Wikipedia copy or else), so unless there's a suitable note they will be deactivated at the discretion of site moderators. If you wish to post these types of image please consider using our sister site TrekLens: http://www.treklens.com/
Rule 6 of TOS: Photographs having a studio-like effect, self portraits and photographs of own reflection or own shadow will also be deleted at the discretion of site moderators. If you wish to post these types of image please consider using our sister site TrekLens.
Rule 8 of TOS:
Special occasions — Religious and National events, New Year, commemorations, disasters, deaths etc. There are no exceptions to the Terms of Service for these occasions.
Please note the following:
• The same rules will apply for photos to mark special occasions as for all other photos. Therefore, text must be placed within a frame, and photos and notes must be within the rules.
If you wish to post a more personal photo, it's possible to post it in a WS of your main subject.
And for your Seasons Wishes, nothing prevents you from writing a few lines in the general forum with a link to your WS.
Joyeux Noël & Meilleurs Voeux de Paix, Joie & Santé pour 2013
Thank you for your understanding.
TrekEarth Moderation Team
PS: It's possible that many of this kind of photos will stay till the New Year as most Moderators will be on Holidays too...
