Default To macondo: The contortionist...

G'day Andrew!
Thanks for the feedback - I checked out your shot taken at Fremantle, and I got neck-ache, too! I'm still trying to capture a group of these birds in 'squadron formation', with the warmer weather coming I should have more opportunities. I used the Nikon 70-300 VR lens, just a great piece of kit: I think the focal length would've been somewhere around the mid-200mm length. And, as you say, the eye of the pelican is always very impressive: there'd be a fair few megapixels of resolving power behind that lens! You're right about Perth being remote, but a lot of us Sandgropers see that as a good thing: Fremantle, on the other hand, is a gastronomic delight, with lots of character(s!) and a salty flavours, a good place for 'people-watching'.
