Default Is beta-TrekEarth switched off?

Today when I tried to used beta-TrekEarth I get the following message:

GoneThe requested resource

is no longer available on this server and there is no forwarding address. Please remove all references to this resource.

Is it temporary? Is it my comp only?

The same with me.
I find it very disappointing as there are lots of advantages on Beta Trekearth.
I do hope it's temporary.
Regards.

Yes indeed, Marie Louise.
I could list the advantages, but I think I have done it already.
The main one was it shows the photos as prepared by the photographer without size decrease, so it is exactly what you upload.
But there are plenty of small advantages for example when I scroll through the critiques which I received recently it shows me on top of the page the page number and I can click to move to page number 5 for example. On Main TE, you can only go to "next" or "previous" without knowing which page you are on. The page number is only at the bottom of the page so you need to scroll down to see where you are. But these are all to subtle things to even explain to administrators. If you don't use the website you don't know why some things are useful or important...

Default Beta 😟

I have had the same problem, Mariusz.
If it has been closed, that would be very sad as Beta had distinct advantages.

Regards, Bev 😊

Hi everyone,

I was not made aware that it was going away, but likely this is because it could not be made compliant with the new CCPA (California Consumer Protection Act, which is similar to GDPR).

Default Questions...

Hello Joel,

Thanks for your reply. I have no idea what the regulations of the new CCPA are, but why would they apply to only the Beta TE site and not the main site? What's the difference between the two that would be affected by the new laws?

I don't know if that is really the reason for Beta TE's disappearance. When we try to connect we get this message:

"Gone

The requested resource
/gallery/
is no longer available on this server and there is no forwarding address. Please remove all references to this resource."

It seems like Beta TE was actually physically removed. Can you please find out for sure what happened? It would have been nice to have a heads-up before the old site disappeared.

Also, why is the counter still not working on individual photos or on our introduction pages? There has been no update for approximately six days now.

Thank you,
Brenda

Interesting about TrekNature. I'll ask tech what's going on.

So does Treklens work perfectly, and it has the same software as TrekNature and Beta Trekearth.
