Default 20 years after Chernobyl

Zuma Press's weekly photostory this week is about Chernobyl. A series of 27 images and also some very informative text about the current situation. It got an honorable mention at the 2006 World Press Photo Awards

Dude, this is difficult to watch, reminds me of the sick children sent from Chernobyl to Cuba where they can vegetate until they die.

Yeah, it's a tough subject. I think the photographer did a good job by not making the physical problems the primary focus of the images. Of course, some photos it is the main thing, but for the most part it is more subtle, where you have to look a little more closely. it would be a tough project to do.

The text that is with the story is good, very interesting since you don't hear too much about the condition now-a-days. And to imagine that Lushenko is going to force people to move back there is horrible. Interesting that some of these people seem to be farming, as though the land is not contaminated... perpetuating the problem and toxifying themselve even more..

Cuba... I don't wanna get started...
