Great tyro 2015-04-03 15:17

Hello Ann,

You have written a very interesting and informative note about this bridge and the accompanying dam and power station and also given us a pair of very fine photographs to illustrate it.

Your main photograph is superb, especially when viewed at its full size and is the sort of "graphic" image which you manage so very well indeed. I love the strong symmetrical composition as well as the wonderful tones and contrasts which are expressed so very well in black and white: the details and sharpness and general technical quality are all immaculate.

Your workshop picture gives us a lovely wider view of the bridge which almost looks insignificant, dwarfed by the massive dam beyond it. I was wondering quite how you managed to achieve this almost aerial view but, searching a little on Google maps, I suspect that you took a trip up Crown Vista Point Road to a dedicated viewpoint to the north.

Kind Regards and a Very happy Easter to you, Dave and family,

Default To tyro: Aerial view

Hello John,
I am glad you like this. I am revisiting some older photos with LR and using some of the sliders to create effect. In b/w the colour sliders act like the old filters used with b/w film. Yes, you are correct about the vantage point - well researched!
Best wishes, Ann
