Default Canon 400D

My Canon 400D has died on me and I don't have a clue what to do about it. I used it last evening then went to transfer images from camera to computer using cable. I think I absent mindedly stuck the USB lead in a non USB port momentarily. After sticking it the USB port nothing happened. Camera completely dead. Tried recahrching battery but not even a light.Help!

Default doctor or not !

Try to buy another new battery or maybe used one grip battery. For discharged images try used one multi CARD discharger what are have Compact Flash compartiment. You protected much better the camera ( camera procesor from possible computer viruses atack ) and battery. If after change with a new battery are not function, go to one CANON service .

Default battery

Thanks, but I tried two batteries without success. I have since sent it to a Canon repair specialist who estimates that it will cost £254.00 to repair and service. That's half the cost of a new 600D so I have a decision to make.

I suggest you go buy a new camera instead. Having it repaired won't ensure you that the same problem won't happen again. You can sell your defective camera at lower price for additional funding for the new camera with better specs
