Photographer’s Note
Tricycle drivers are all over the city of Saigon. As I understand it, many are not legally allowed to live in the city, so they pretty much have to live in their tricycle. A hard life for them. If I remember my LP correctly, many are well educated, but kind of persecuted by the gov't. This guy is catching a cat nap with pretty much all he owns surrounding him.
Unfortunately, on my one tricycle ride, I found the seating uncomfortable and more importantly, the driver tried to rip me off. After that, no more tricycles for me.
TriX @ 1600, handheld, uncropped, normal post processing.

Hi Darren,
I like this picture in many ways, it's relaxing to look at and it matches the title. Technically it's great too. What I don't understand though is your choice of cropping, I suggest either zooming out a little so that the whole bike is well in the picture or cropping tighter (now the wheel touches the edge and the roof goes out of the picture). I like the noise and contrast from iso 1600.

Reminds me of a picture that Luko has in his portfolio, from Laos I think, where a man is sleeping in the back of his truck with just the feet visible. I'm getting the same vibe here.
Cool shot, Darren, and unusual for you not to see the face of the subject you're shooting. But I do like this departure from your usual shots. You got lucky with the background as well...no disturbing elements in sight.
Simple yet effective shot. Good one, Darren.

Hello Darren.
I really like the picture shot in to tri-X 400. We can almost guess with the thumbnail that it's tri-X.
Another interesting angle would have been to see the guy sleeping but this one with only the feet are very good.
You have a talent to capture simple life moment with emotion (and your note help it).
Regards.

I have to agree a bit with Simon: the composition throws me. I see how the forecarriage of the rickshaw is balanced exactly in the frame but I can't quite get over the back bit that's been cropped.
The rest of the compo is great and the pattern on the sidewalk works well in this picture.
you gotta love that tri-X 400 look.

Good one... Kind of journalist photo. Looks like older times which makes me think Vietnam has not change very much since I went there back in 1999. I also like the empty part in the right.

Hi darren , i quite like the idea of the b&w grainy shot...and the empty space on the right side of the frame! it is a pity you had to crop the bicycle though...
