Photographer’s Note
To continue with yesterday's picture... and animal-shaped stones,
http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Africa/Algeria/photo296501.htm
This place is called "Ekanassai" because of the shape of this stone. It is situated not very far from the Tin Merzouga dune.
"Ekanassai" means "hedgehog" in Tamatchek which is the language of the Tuareg people.

Hedgehog? It's a sphynx! I guess the Egyptians just couldn't stay put...
The lighting is nice, but the subject matter doesn't stir a very strong response in me. Maybe the excess clutter on the right and left edges distracts from the main subject matter a little bit too much. Maybe a more interesting POV, if possible, would be to get very low a little bit closer to it and use a wider angled lens to get a full silhoutte against the sky, so that not only would it appear animal-like, but like a very powerful animal.
Not a bad picture, it just seems a little bit more like a record of the scene than something with an emotional relevance.
(Forgive my recent string of single point critiques, I haven't been able to take any pictures for about a month and a half and it's starting to bother me greatly... I seem to have become a little bit critical of my own stuff as well.)

Very nice composition and colours.
A good example of a mushroom rock (as I know this rock called Gur in Sahara).
Thanks for sharing,
Best regards

Hi Emmanuelle!
I can´t understand your intro. But I did read some of your notes you have given to your fotos and I can understand your passion for the dessert. As this one is another perfect one. beautiful in colors and sharpnes. And I`m sure, half a hour later or earlyer it would have been a total differrent picture. That´s what makes a dessert so Interresting.
Well done again.
