Photographer’s Note
In the north of Benin is the National Park of the Pendjari. The best time to visit is during the dry season, when all sorts of animals tend go gather around the watering holes (hippos, elephants, buffalo, baboons, etc). Part of the adventure though, is certainly the ride! Within the boundaries of the park, you're allowed to ride on the roof of your 4x4.
Technical note: the photo posed a certain amount of difficulty because I was positioned in exactly the same way as the people you see in front of you.

Hello Caleb,
You have certainly captured very well the excitement of travelling on unpaved roads in Africa. I remember the feeling of not knowing what may be waiting around the corner. There's good depth and fine colours in this picture.
I visited Benin in the early 1980's. A very interesting country but politically quite different from today.
Best wishes,
Gert
