Zemidjan's break Photo

Photographer’s Note

In the city of Cotonou, there are nearly 80,000 moto-taxis or zemidjans, while the city counts 800,000 inhabitants! They are the easiest and cheapest way to travel through the town (about 0,5€ for a couple of kilometers). At midday, many of them enjoy a little break and fall asleep on their bike.

A Cotonou, on recense près de 80 000 taxis-motos ou zemidjans, alors que la ville ne compte que 800 000 habitants! Ils offrent le moyen le plus pratique et le moins cher pour se déplacer à travers la ville (le prix moyen d'une course est de 0,5€). En milieu de journée, beaucoup d'entre eux s'offrent une petite pause et s'endorment sur leur véhicule.

I ike this photo, although you don't offer a close up of the motocycle and man it is good like this too. The colours are good, the subject is well noted by the wall, and the tree offers a good left frame

Hey this is cool. I can't beleive how comfortable this guy looks lying on his bike. I like the compo including the detail of the paving stones and the wall.

Ca n'a pas l'air très confortable... moi, j'aurai la trouille de me casser la figure surtout qu'il n'y a pas l'air d'avoir de béquille!
Les couleurs sont bonnes et la note est sympa.
Je me réjouis de découvrir tes prochaines photos.

i am sorry to see the man sleeping like this. but i like to sleeping put the feet higher too then next morning, i waked up and can see anythng in front of me...

Voici une position originale pour dormir. L'exposition est bonne et la surexposition de la maison en arrière-plan n'est absolument pas gênante. Au contraire, elle renforce le contraste entre l'ombre choisie par cet homme et la luminosité ambiante qui semble être élevée.
Encore peu de photos sur ton site, mais je les trouve toutes très talentueuses. Bravo !

hopefully i can make it back to benin to get a photo like this one... the amazing thing is how typical this scene actualy is!

i would have tried to focus a bit more on the 'kekeno' & get rid of the tree & top bit of the fence (it doesn't add much to your photo). but, i imagine you didn't want to distrub his rest either!
