Dantokpa Market

The most important retailing areas in Benin is the Dantokpa Market, covering over 20 hectares, a labyrinth of wooden booths and makeshift stands. You can find anything you want and a million things you don’t want. And you had to bargain and to cut the price at least in half, otherwise you could not buy something. It is economically very important for the country, you could buy everything here. Wikiipedia writes that the commercial turnover is of over a billion CFA Francs (100 CFA francs = 0.152449 euro) a day.

Hallo Achim. Das Photo gefällt mir sehr gut. Es ist wirklichkeitsnah und lebendig. Eine ähnliche Szene habe ich einmal im Kombodscha gesehen. Ich dachte zuerst, in den Flaschen befänden sich Fruchtsaftgetränke. Aber dann wurde klar, in all den bunten Getränkeflaschen befand sich ein Öl-Zweitaktgemisch für die Motorräder. A shot full of local ambience. Dice to see all fresh drinks on clearly recycled bottles and canisters. Reddish brown toned background looks harmonous even with so many details.
