Taxi Stop

This is a taxi stop, a stop for going by boat to Ganvie. Today is Sunday and many people wear there best clothes going to church or visiting their relatives. Ganvie is a lake village, lying in Lake Nokoué, near Cotonou. With a population of around 20000 people, it is probably the largest lake village in Africa. The next days I will post some beautiful picture of this lake village.

hehe, funny colorful set that makes a great photogenic subject to capture. The patterns of the clothes are amazing. Quite exotic, no doubt. Only the white shirt at right and the boy in the middle don't fit.

What a colourful group of people wearing their Sunday best! Your photo gives us a colourful view of daily ( or rather weekly )life in Benin!
They all seem to be happy! I like the contrast of their clothes with the littleboy's T-shirt which is not traditionally African!
