Photographer’s Note

The pirogue is a typical West African fishing boat. To make a pirogue, all you need to do is to hollow out the trunk of a large tree (which explains why some pirogues are not very straight from end to end!)

I touched up a number of things from my original post:

- more boat in the foreground, as requested
- wider angle to give more the wave
- increased image size
- colour / curves

it is a pity that more than 300 viewers came visit and left nothing....
the boat, meeting that big wave is amazing. very well composed.
