the picture was taken during the voodoo festival - an important annualy ceremony-but the hairdo like this has nothing in comman with the ceremony.More hairdressers can be found on any single street in Benin's towns than perhaps in most quartiers of European cities.the hairdo that would be consider undone (or let's say "in progress") in Europe is the final "product" of many hours spent in hairdresser's place.
