Photographer's Note

The elephants swam across the river in order to reach the uninhabited island, a source of green grass at a time when the dry season has parched the land.
In a previous posting you can see these placid creatures forge the river.

The black birds are the African Openbill, storks that have a nutcracker-like gap between the mandibles, a distinct feature that develops with age. They feed on snails and mussels.
