Photographer’s Note
...let me be the first to point out that the sky in this shot is extremely grainy.
Two fisherman coming home from fishing on the lake all day. If you ever find yourself here, the southern shore of Lake Lagdo, make sure you get up early and go out at sunset, when the fisherman are going out and coming home. Not to mention the great light. It's a spectacular setting, landscape and cultural experience.

Hi John,
forget the grainy sky, this composition is a masterpiece! The light is absolutely wonderful, just stressing the silhouettes of the two fishermen in these amazing shades of red.
Congratulation!

un très beau cadrage sur cette eau doré!
la position des deux rameur nous laisse deviner que ces derniers coups de pagaies tirent sur les bras...

That's a splendid sunset and the grainy sky doesn't bother me!
The colours are just magic and these men create a fantastic foreground.

Hi John,
I do not see you that often anymore, but what you bring here is truly wonderful. Who cares about the grainy sky, it brings a great mood inside and your framing with the two peddlers are perfect caught in the act. Great caputure here within an excellent exposure and most of all framing..!!!

Hi John,
Great looking sunset taken on the tele end of that zoom. I like the warm reddish brown tones. Silhouette of two fishermen on a boat is special, even those paddles are well placed. Good off centre framing too.

And this would be one of my favorite pictures and Harriet is right, lets forget the grainy sky you absolutely have the best composition on this. The fishermen's silhoutte, the perfect warm sunball, the nice orange colours and wow....this really a fantastic one !!
Very well done John, thanks for showing this..

Why only in Africa we can see this kind of sunsets with a huge sun and so wonderful colours? It may be granny but is fantastic. Do not worry about the grain! Just admire the sunset and imagine the African sounds going around at that time of the day. Congratulations for the spectacular shot.

Hello John,
A great composition with marvellous colors. Regarding the noisy sky, I have seen a lot worse – some of my own pictures for instance ;-)
Who cares?
Best wishes,

Great photo John! Catching a big sun like that without overexposing it is a true catch and a word of someone who knows what he is doing. Your exposure is perfect. The composition is good but it's the only thing I think it could be better. If you had caught the subjects (the pair of rowers and the sun) in opposite corners it would be a perfect shot. Maybe you can clone the sun to the opposite side ;) Great photo.

grainy but nice,...:)from my own experiance I know that each shot may not be perfect (for external reasons or we made mistake, whatever) still I think they should be shared and appreciated for their "relaive" beauty.
