Photographer’s Note

On 1472 portugueses explorers baptized Wouri river as "Rio dos Camarỡes" (Shrimps River)giving the actual name to the country.
Along the Atlantic coast, between the fishing village of Londji and the border of Equatorial Guinea, there's a whole range of spectacular beaches, with Kribi in between.
The name Kribi is derived from the word "kiridi" which translates as small man, a reference to the pygmyes who where the original and oldest inhabitants of this region. Today those from Bantu-languages groups like the Bakoko and Batanga dominate, although some pygmyes remain.
My friend Love belongs to Batanga tribe and he created a cooperative with Bakoko and Baka (pygmyes): they opened a restaurant (Golden Rocks) on the beach.
They prepare fantastic shrimps sharing with you traditinal tales.
