Photographer’s Note
This is a view from the two Manengouba (about 2450m high) volcano peaks. We walked back from the Caldera up to a Peul village also called Mbororo who speaks a Foulbé language.
The landscape was unusual compared to what we are used to see in the tropical area. The weather was really cool and nice. It could be compared to the old volcano chains from Auvergne in Central France.
In the village, we met the old chief and his two wives. That old man welcomed us and asked for a new pair of shoes. His family living in the various wooden houses around looked very kind and welcoming which is quite unusual in Cameroon. We could sit down in one of the house spend some time with them trying to communicate and asking permission for few portraits.
Those Bororo people are unusual since they gave up their nomad tradition and chose to live in those fertiles volcanic hills growing vegetables, preparing cheese and yogurts from the cow's milk.
Our guide told us the old man was an important person owning over 300 Zebus in this area.

Nice image with a good perspective and pov. the lights and colours are managed well and the image has overall impact. I like the way its been composed and presented. The tones are textures are well used along with the depth of the canvass.

Hi Steven,
Wow, I wouldn't want to have a fight with these specimen...so sharp horns! :oP Indeed an unexpected landscape for Africa, but this continent has so multiple and diverse resources..a pity mankind cannot manage to use them in a sustainable way most of the time!

Bonjour Steven,
On ne te vois pas souvent sur TE et c'est avec plaisir que l'on découvre tes posts!
De magnifiques bêtes dans ce paysage quasi sauvage qui effectivement peut rappeler le centre de la France!
Belle composition et belles couleurs!
