Photographer’s Note
When I was thinking about a title for this image ,I realized that there is no red, green or yellow, only white, blue and brown. So i call it:tricolor.
This church is between the salinas and the village Pedra de Lume on Sal island.
This village is a ghost-village because the salt production stopped 16 years ago.
In 1990 there were about 700 full time residents in Pedra de Lume. Unfortunately, the economy of the town only offered 22 year-round jobs to local residents. The rest of the town's workers have had to migrate to other parts of Sal or have been compelled to move to other islands or abroad.

Great one! Is simple, but very good looking.
The light blues on the chruch and the more striking ones on the sky make an awsome contrast. This picture is all about its colors.
With such nice and calm colors you managed to get the feeling of a calm lonliness and lack of movment you were trying to achive. Good job man.
The composition was really good. The classical: "take the main element out of the center", worked like a charm here. The church on the right and in front and the mountain in the left and on the back... That makes for a very harmonic and plesing to see photo.
The note is really nice too, helping us place your photo in time and space.
Thx for sharing such a great image. And keep on posting.

Churchs and cross are always pretty with sky like that.
Reading your note I think that city it is almost a ghost city. Maybe that church would be abandoning in same years from now, very sadly saw a pretty church like that becames ruins.

Hi Leo,
The title is perfect for this photo. The white and light blue of the sky makes a great contrast with the brown color of the ground and moutain.

Hallo Andreas,
A title very adapted to this photo, really tricolor. Perfect frame, with the small church, and the desert land and the mountain in background.
Good lighting and sharpness. The sky is very beautiful, with a splendid blue color.
Excellent work.

Josep

A very dramatic shot that is full of contrast. The lightness of the church against the dark background gives this photo a strong "punch". No human beings around. It is really deserted. very well done with balanced composition.

The light here makes the photo almost 3D - the church leaps out at you, and the mountain is a great contrast.
And yet the limited colours give it an understated feel.....
A lovely sky, informative note and you have a very impressive post.
Thanks

Hi Andreas,
Great low pov you have chosen here and so well composed. So dramatic somehow. Good light on the church and a nice background. I get a feeling as if there has been a heavy wind that has blown everything away.......and now as you say - a ghost town.
Really nice.

Hi Leo - very successful composition, the church is very pretty taking almost all the height of the frame on the right side, very clever. The nature elements (sky, soil, hill) are beautiful. Somehow I get an idea of a place of pilgrimage. Regards, Daniel

Hi Andreas,
The juxtoposition of light and dark, close and distant, as well as the simplicity of colours are what really make this image work so well as it does. I may be wrong ...was there a storm brewing? I like your notes...intellegent. Terrific shot.

Hi Andreas
Nice, almost minimalist shot. The colours work well and the atmosphere is a litle eerie. This adds to the overall impact of the shot. Nice capture.

A really striking image, well constructed. You only need those three colours when there are so many different tones of them. The slight lens distortion is actually effective in making the scene more dramatic. The total absence of vegetation and humanity make this a very stark and yet beautiful picture. I love it. The music of Cabo Verde that I have heard, and your photos, make me want to go there.

Andrew

Hallo Leo,
Your photo, with the simple church, shows very well Pedra de Lume as a ghost-village.

Hello Andreas,
I like the composition. But I think that hte polarizing filter make too much darker the left side of the picture. I'm not sure that the contrast between the church and the empty part on the left will not be as good as it is without the filter.
Well done
