Photographer’s Note
This is the old rope-railway which was used to transport the salt from Las Salinas to the port of Pedra de Lume.(Sal island)
In the 18th century a Cape Verdean names Manuel Antonio Martins began to develop the salt business which had already existed for many years on Boa Vista. The most challenging technical issue confronting the establishment of the salt business at Pedra de Lume was to design a way of transporting the salt from the salinas high above the village to the embarkation point at the port. Initially pack animals were used to do the work. Later a tunnel was cut through the wall of the extinct volcano thereby easing access to the salina.
Later this rope-railway was built. The salt production stoped in 1985.
I will post a foto of the tunnel soon.
Have a nice sunday

Hello Andreas,
If this one was in BW you could also taken it in 1900..!!!
I really love these kind of scenes, where time is not from any importance.
Your pov is great, it is making it a very good composition which makes it a very pleasant picture to look at.

Hallo Andreas,

Hi, Andreas!
Ideal deep and feeling of perspective here. Real monsters in perfect line. Briliant olors, shadows and clouds added "+" for composition.
Regards,
Ivars.
