Las Salinas - 5 - Photo

Photographer’s Note

I can not resist,I post another image taken at Las Salinas on the island Sal.
I`m fascinated by the color phenomen caused by sea-weed in the salty water.
This is not my POV,it`s the one of my camera.I did hold it a few cm above the ground and did many shots till I recieved a good result with the close up plants as foreground.

Just in time to see a new Foto!
The colors (especially the water) are amazing. In some way this doesn't seem Cape Verde.
This composition is wonderful, as the land band separates the sky from the lake. The plants in foreground are a good addition.
About the note and title, I don't know where did you get Las Salinas, as the "las" is neither Portuguese nor Creole.

Strong red making an interesting contrast with the blue of sky and the warm colors of earth. A great management of the light. An interesting composition with this foreground :)

Guten Morgen Andreas!
Eine tolle Perspektive mit den Pflanzen im Vordergrund. Erstaunlich, dass die mit diesen Gegebenheiten klarkommen. Die Farben sind einfach umwerfend und der Kontrast zwischen Himmel und Wasser ist kaum zu toppen. Hochinteressant!

Diese Wasserpflanzen sehen recht exotisch aus. Ich frage mich, welches Getier sich dort rumtreibt?
Der Himmel ist übrigens auch wunderbar.

It is a magnificent image with a beautiful landscape, clean, solitaire and that inspires much calm.
The red tones of the water, with the green plants in foreground, from a low POV, they contrast with great beauty with the so blue and sprinkled sky of pretty clouds of cotton.

Hi Andreas,

the colours are really dense and saturated...the exposure with the sharp foreground well choosen...plenty of clouds get their reflection in pink waters of this salt lake...the contrast is of excellent quality but overall the air clarity is incredible...i would imagine some vapour over a lake situated so close to equator...cheers, arturo

Interesting colour combination, where the water actually takes the colours of the weed and not so much reflects the sky...
Effective composition in distinct layers, the sky is pleasantly polarized and dotted with fluffy white clouds... nice!

Well I don't mind, so strong in colors ans well exposed, which was not easy considering the cloud, but it looks great and the strength of these colors as well as the unusual color of the water are for sure impacting.

Two very distinct bands of wonderful colour separated by the mounds. The sky is stunning with its white fluffy clouds which are reflected in the water. Good foreground interest too. Well done on another superb image.

This is a great one. I like the colour of the water as it delivers amazing impact, and contrast well with the plants in the foreground and the sky in the distance. The technique you used has worked too, as it is much easier to do now with digital as you can see right away if it's worked or not. Great work.

Nice to see Las Salinas one more time, Leo. Of course what makes the difference here are these water plants (actually I am amazed how they survive in the salty water...), but also I like the strong horisontal division of the frame here by two lines, one, white, of the salt, and the other, brown, of the plateau.

Bonjour Andréas, Je connais les lacs bleus, noir, blanc, vert à la limite mais ce rose est tout à fait inattendu, et à en voir l’aspect des végétaux ils onts l’air de bien se porté, ce rose mélangé à la teinte verte des plantes est very very photogénique ainsi que le ciel qui lui est sublime, mais vu d’ici et surtout a sont aspect je n’y netterrai pas trempé un orteil, bien amicalement

This landscape seems a sci-fi place. It's really impressive the water coloured in this way. And it's too beautiful the contrast between the blue sky. Cool shot. I like the depth of field used. It keeps plants in the foreground focused. The clouds give a wonderful sense of scale and space.

quelle superbe photo !le premier plan ajoute de l'étrangeté à la couleur de l'eau et la densité du ciel affirme qu'ici le ciel et la terre sont dans une stricte égalité de force, ce que ne contredit pas le choix d'une ligne d'horizon au milieu de l'image qui fait passer de l'un à l'autre par une bande intermédiaire où se répondent presque mais en position inversée le blanc des nuages et l'ocre de la terre
