Photographer’s Note

Depression de Mourdì, near the border with Sudan and Lybia, these are remnants of the war with Libya. The whole area is still mined, and I couldn't believe human stupidity: the region is empy and devoid of anything (even petroleum as far as you could tell) but still people were killing each other in the middle of nowhere.

Hi Dario, I like this document. Play the game of points with the content of this photo could be a little bit frivolous but I think it´s worthy to thank your idea to bring the real world here, this world far from nice landscape and exotic faces. Thanks.

Thanks Dario for showing this. This is something and someplace we don't see on TE or really anywhere else very often. It's a sad commentary of the logic (or lack) of man.

Sad picture from a very remote place. I plan to visit chad on my future africa journey. This is a good picture that can really teach us something about our world (that's the purpose of this site).

This tells a lot about the stupidity of the combatants, and the avidity of the weapons sellers...

good news: sudan and chad finally agreed not to go to war... but who cares ?

Hi Dario,

The limits of human stupidity are hard to fathom; the lengths that people will go to in order to fight over even worthless land will never cease to amaze. I like the composition and exposure, although the whole is a little blurry. Good documentary pic, and thanks for the note.

It is a great comment what you post here, well take a photo in the middle of nowhere is difficult so I appreciate your shot anyway and still I didn't know about this war until now
