[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Both the title and the picture reflect my melancholic mood about this place: the mortuary temple of Ramesses III (20th Dynasty, 1182-1151 BC) located at Medinet Habu in West Thebes. The picture represents the pillar passage in the northern part of the first courtyard of the temple; a picture representing the opposite part across the courtyard is shown here.
The ancient Egyptians called this kind of mortuary structures Temples of Millions of Years.Their main purpose was to serve the ruler's cult, both during and after his lifetime. At the same time they functioned as economic power bases and as the seat of important religious festivals. Today all these purposes have ceased, vanished, their solely purpose only being a showplace for tourists, everything in vain.

Glad you continue to post your Egyptian works, I'm a fan !
This corridor looks magnifiscent and this fine perspective is very luminous, I like the massive aspect of the repeted pillars and the finely carved walls, great artwork from them qnd photograhic work from you !
Have a nice weeke nd,
Jean-Yves

Hi Christian
Nice composition here. The light was probably difficult to catch because of the high contrasts, but here it's very well done.

Hej Christian,
Great picture of this ancient temple. I like the well visible details on the walls as well as the fine light. Good colours too, well done!
Hälsningar,
Lars

Hi Christian,
Here, you got a very good definition and sharpness as in the foreground as in the background. We can see the details perfectly in all the view. The light is also very well captured. Congratulations!.
It has bring me good memories, because it has remembered me a photo I did in my Egypt travel with the same composition, from the Hatsetshup Temple.
Best regards.
Jaume

Hi Christian. Very good work here with keeping the DOF so high to enable strong focus and textures from front to back. Also the decision to go on-center with the focal point was a good one. Very nicely done Christian!

Hola amigo

Buena composición y profundidad. Los contraste de luces está muy bien.
Saludos

HI Christian
Great POV here and the exposure is just right. You have really managed to capture the rich colour of the stone and the textures in the light, and I like the repeating pillars.
Regards, Susanna
