[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
The Masjid of Amr ibn al-As (Arabic: جامع عمرو بن العاص), also called the Mosque of Amr, was originally built in 642CE, as the center of the newly-founded capital of Egypt, Fustat. The original structure was the first mosque ever built in Egypt, and by extension, the first mosque on the continent of Africa.(wikipedia.)
It was refurbished few decades later but they kept some of the original framework (woods) and then it was refurbished-extended few hundred years later, again they kept the wooden frames on top of the mihrab as old relics, some of these pillars were imported from India and tiles and woods and craftmanship from other countries. Its a beautiful Masjid, with alot of history, The Great Imam Shafi'ee prayed here too.

RP: made the image much sharper, added frame, and minimized the size
